Hello, my name is Scott Sanders. I’m a writer and published author. I am currently writing a book about the war in Ukraine.

Let me share a little about my life, some experiences and why I am a writer.

At age 17, I finished high school in California and joined a musical group called Up With People where I was a soloist and dancer. We performed our show throughout the United States and in several countries. We sang our songs (songs we wrote) in English, Spanish and French. It was an amazing time. When I returned to Los Angeles, I continued to be involved in the entertainment business. I acted and performed on several Bob Hope Specials, and appeared in several television shows as a bit actor. At the same time, I was the Graduation Night coordinator at Magic Mountain in Valencia, California.

I’ve never stopped loving the entertainment business, but eventually went to university and studied Russian Literature. I became a big fan of the classic Russian authors, especially Tolstoy, Lermentov and others. My favorite Russian author is Dostoevsky. My favorite novels, in order, are Moby Dick, Paradise Lost, Crime and Punishment, Heart of Darkness and Anna Karenina. But honestly, there are dozens of novels that I truly love. One of my favorite modern novels is  Confederacy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Poole.

I’ve been in business as an owner and as a consultant for most of my life. While being a businessman, I continued performing and acting–mostly as leads in stage plays: Fiddler On The Roof, 42nd Street, Kiss Me Kate and Music Man.  Back to business,  I’ve written over 100 business plans and consulted to many start-up companies, but my true love is writing. I’ve written several stories about growing up on a small ranch  in Thousand Oaks, California; I’ve written several teleplays and screenplays, as well as a children’s book: A Pixie Day for 3-7 year-olds.

I’m a single man living in Studio City, California. I love the sun and beaches of Southern California.

I have five children: a daughter and three sons, and a deceased daughter. I miss Emily very much. She died at age 3 1/2. My four remaining children are quite talented and full of life and I enjoy seeing them grow and accomplish their dreams. I am a grandfather. My middle son and his wife have a beautiful daughter named Elissa. She’s quite a joy.

Now, I am embarking on  another chapter of my life and profession. I am writing a novel set against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. The rest of this website  tells that story.

My book is essentially about how the world surrounding a brilliant man comes crashing down around him and how he rebuilds it in war-torn Ukraine.
